Petplan Equine
Sponsored Rider - Lili

"I would be happy to recommend Petplan Equine to anyone, they have dealt with all my claims over the years. My horses are irreplaceable to me, and I feel happy knowing I can give them the care as they need it and I am confident to also have my prized tack and trailer insured with Petplan Equine in case anything happens."

Tell us about the horses you own.

To start with the smallest; Dougal is my rescue Shetland stallion that now lives a life of luxury. Paddy is my 14.3hh Connemara gelding and he is a real life unicorn, people throw about the term “horse of a lifetime” but he is truly my best friend. Fons is a KWPN who I have had super feedback that he will reach the top level dressage. Zu is huge and beautiful and I learn something new all the time with him. I also own a retired horse named Polly. Fifi is my newest addition, a black filly born in 2015. I have lots of dreams and hopes in this lovely little foal.

What were your highlights from 2015 as a sponsored rider and what are your goals for 2016?

I have had so many opportunities thrown my way in the last year. I am thrilled and grateful for every session that I had to train with Charlotte Dujardin. I loved going to Talland for the first time and meeting Charlie Hutton, who now comes over once a month to train me. I would never have had this chance without Petplan Equine. I also qualified Zu for the novice open regionals, which was a surprise to everyone, most of all, me!

For 2016 I want happiness, health and soundness for my horses. I made a decision a few years ago, that you never know how long you are lucky enough to have these horses for, so in many ways, I try not to make plans and just enjoy the ride so to speak. I want them to feel no pressure and to enjoy working. Also whenever I make plans, it feels like a horse gets sick, and if I tell anyone I am going to a show, then the wheels fall off. I am getting superstitious in my old age.
