To take part in an Area Festival each horse and rider combination must qualify by achieving two scores of 62% or above for Preliminary to Elementary, or 60% or above for Medium to PSG. The two score sheets must be from the same calender year as the Area Festival you wish to compete in and be submitted with your entry.
Scores can be obtained at any affiliated competition and non-members of British Dressage may qualify on "Class Tickets". Once the scores have been obtained the combination must become full members of British Dressage in order to take part in the Area Festivals. "Class Tickets" are available from British Dressage at a cost of £7 and enable riders to take part in an affiliated class without becoming full members.
To purchase ‘class tickets’ contact British Dressage on 02476 698 846 / 698 909 or visit www.britishdressage.co.uk
Non-members may qualify at Preliminary level (without a class ticket) they must however join British Dressage before entering an Area Festival. Horses/ponies need not be registered to enter an Area Festival at Preliminary level however they must be registered by the Area Festival Championships.
To enter, send the original sheets with the date and venue of the class written on them to the organiser of the area festival you would like to go to, together with your entry form. Area Festival schedules can be found in British Dressage magazine and are available on www.britishdressage.co.uk
