In addition to the mandatory Basic Cover, you can choose to add any of the following Optional Cover benefits to your policy:

Basic Cover We will pay up to

Death and Loss by Theft or Straying

Pays up to the sum insured (or market value if less) following loss by death or euthanasia or by theft or straying, plus up to £300 towards the cost of advertising or reward following theft or straying.

Pays towards the cost of disposal following death or euthanasia of the insured animal

Vet fees

Pays towards the cost of treatment for illness or injury including complementary treatment as recommended by the attending vet. Available option:

  • Standard - the first £135 of each unrelated claim is payable by the policyholder
  • HiXS - the first £500 of each unrelated claim is payable by the policyholder

Permanent Loss of Use

Pays up to 60% or 100% of the sum insured in the event that an injury or illness permanently prevents the insured horse participating in any one of it's insured activities

Third Party Liability

Pays up to the maximum benefit towards legal costs and compensation in the event that you are found legally liable for an accident, injury or death to a third party or damage to their property. The first £100 of claims for property damage is payable by the policyholder

Personal Accident and Dental (Standard)

Pays up to the maximum benefit following death or permanent total disability to the rider or handler of the insured horse. This also covers up to £1000 towards dental treatment for the rider or handler

Saddlery and Tack

Pays towards the cost of repair or replacement of lost or damaged saddlery and tack. The first £100 of each claim is payable by the policyholder

Trailer/Horse-drawn vehicle

Pays for the cost of repair to your trailer or horse-drawn vehicle, or up to the sum insured (or market value if less) if it is lost, stolen, or destroyed, or if the cost of repair is more than it was worth before it was damaged. The first £100 of each claim is payable by the policyholder
