Jack’s Guide to Eventing

Eventing is the ultimate test between horse and rider consisting of three phases: dressage, show jumping and cross country. Each phase is scored separately and then combined, giving an overall penalty score - the winner having the least penalties at the end.

Are you thinking of giving eventing a go or would you just like to find out more about what goes on at an event? Read Jack’s guide for getting started in the sport or watch as Jack and his ride, George, joins six-time Badminton winner Lucinda Green for a lesson to discuss Lucinda’s three golden rules for cross-country riding.
