Mixed veterinary practice named as winner in 2015 Petplan Veterinary Awards

Bute and Cowal Vets voted top practice at the illustrious Petplan Veterinary Awards 2015

Bute and Cowal Vets in Dunoon and Rothesay has been awarded the prestigious title of Veterinary Practice of the Year 2015 at the Petplan Veterinary Awards. The awards, which were held on the 9th April at the iconic Birmingham Town Hall, seek to shine a light on the UK’s outstanding vets, vet nurses, practices, practice managers and vet support staff who are instrumental in keeping the nation’s pets happy and healthy.

Bute & Cowal Vets is a mixed veterinary practice, committed to improving the health & welfare of companion, equine and farm animals across the Isle of Bute & Cowal Peninsula. A family-run practice with five full time vets across surgeries in the towns of Rothesay, Isle of Bute and Dunoon, Argyll, they run their own emergency service 24 hours a day, 365 days of the year, tending a wide range of species, including wildlife.

On receiving their award, a spokesperson on behalf of the practice commented: “It’s fantastic to have won this accolade – being a small, family-run practice, we really appreciate the support of clients and people in the local area. Our clients have got behind us in a huge way– we have had so many kind messages over the past months, and receiving this prize makes everything we do feel really worthwhile.”

Petplan's Head of Marketing, Isabella Von Mesterhazy, comments: “The Veterinary Awards are Petplan’s way of saying a huge ‘thank you’ to those members of the veterinary profession who care for the nation’s pets with such dedication. Whether it’s for a routine check-up, or to treat a more unexpected illness, these committed individuals and teams really are irreplaceable, and it’s wonderful to be able to thank them in such a public way through these awards. We’re elated to be able to announce our deserving winners, and congratulate them on their fantastic achievement!”
