November and December Update

Welcome to my last blog of the 2015 season. After a challenging year, Ghost has finished his holidays and has been affiliated ready for British Dressage for next season. I still stand by my decision to not event him next year, but I will jump him in due course and see what happens. I think it could be to do with the going at individual events, so next year I am going to have to choose my venues based on the ground conditions and being situated in Cornwall this could be interesting as we are so limited in this area.

Ghost's eventing career comes to an end

Ghost is being aimed at medium this season, and has his first outing planned already in January, to gain us some arena experience at medium.

November and December saw two foals go to their new homes, one to Northamptonshire and one to sunny Devon! The other two are to stay here until spring and summer 2016. Work with the new filly, Wup, has been slow. The weather has been so horrific down here, it just hasn't been possible to get her ready to back. She has been long reining and lunging lovely, so will be sent away to be backed and hacked and then come home for me to school on for the season.

Loppie left to go to his new home in Northamptonshire

The new young filly by Tolegro, will do some in-hand work for this season in the hope she will be ready for some low key shows before the county shows start; she really is something else.

December saw me boarding a train to London - on my own. I've never been to the nearest town on my own, let alone a city like London, but all of the sponsored riders were invited by Petplan Equine to come to their offices in London for media and digital training. We also went to Olympia Horse Show to meet with representatives from the equine media. We were lucky enough to watch the Kur and see Carl Hester win on home soil! It was wonderful to finally meet all the other sponsored riders and we had such a superb time, I will never forget it. So a huge thanks to Petplan Equine for organising the little get away!

Ghost preparing for Christmas

We have also been asked to continue our sponsorship for another year. This is such a huge honour and of course we all jumped at the chance, and we had some more super kit arrive in the post for us. Christmas came early! As the year comes to a close, I can only hope for a much happier and healthier 2016.
