Charlotte Edwards is from Buckinghamshire and competes in affiliated show jumping.
Tell us about the horses you own.
At the moment we own four show jumping horses; Buenos Aires II, Castleview Bouncer, Renkum St George and Ebbie. Buenos Aires is a difficult and quirky horse, who is full of character. Castleview Bouncer is a Grade B, and is an out and out winner, and is great fun. Ebbie has just been backed and will be starting her jumping career. She is a beautiful chestnut mare. Renkum St George, who is a very timid horse, has bags of talent, and is a striking, big black horse. This year I also have the ride on a few horses owned by Andy Austin (Empire VI), Harriet Evans (Quainton China Girl) and Jan Dickenson (Athena II).
What were your highlights from 2015 as a sponsored rider and what are your goals for 2016?
My highlights from 2015 as a sponsored rider has to be the camaraderie from the Petplan team and the other sponsored riders. It is such a nice feeling to feel a part of such a great team, who fully support you and want you to do well. It gives you a more positive view on situations, especially as we all know that horses have their ups and downs.
My goals for 2016 are to continue to grow a strong string of horses, and welcoming new owners on board. My ultimate goal this year would be to qualify for the Olympia Under 23s, as it is my last year. How obtainable this goal is, I have no idea. But I will be ceasing every opportunity to be able to try and fulfil it. Another goal, well more wish, is for all the horses to stay sound and healthy, and to have a good season!
